While demolition is something we do every day, this may be your first project and the process of demolishing a building can be daunting. There are a range of factors that need to be considered that may feel overwhelmed.

Documents and process will be sent in easy steps via email covering licenses, bonds, pest control and service abolishment. Demolition Works will look after the finer details.

Demolition Works have had many years of experience demolishing structures of different sizes. From small homes to massive 2 storey residence Perth and will always have a prestart demolition meeting with you to cover all the onsite aspects of the job.


Our Administration Team will explain the process from start to finish and outline the timeline for the next step in the process.


Paperwork and Permission

The administration Team will assist in understanding the rules and legislation that might impact the project and simplify the process dealing with your local government requirements


The Project will need a demolition permit, and the council will expect you to use a licensed contractor. Approval can range from council to council from 10 working days or longer to be granted. If the demolition licence application is not filled in correctly it can cause additional delays, you will not need to concern yourself as our administration team will review the documents and information supplied to avoid return applications. Demolition works has a reputable standard and a formal contact with each council to meet all the requirements necessary.

Generally in your Demo and build project, it is a good idea to provide a set of building plans to submit with the demolition application to council.


Demolition Works will supply to authorities’ (work safe) comprehensive safety plan prior to the demolition. This plan includes details of the demolition scope and installation of temporary fencing.


Asbestos and Chemical Removal

During the demolition preparation stage, we will check your property for bonded hard flex asbestos products and dangerous chemicals. Notice of 5 days will be given to works safe prior to starting and a clearance certificate on completion. This is a legal requirement and detrimental to the health and safety of those on the worksite and the community.


We can efficiently remove bonded asbestos and have a Restricted Asbestos Licence with approval from WorkSafe. Plus, our team has asbestos removal and safe demolition training and tickets.


Your neighbours will be notified of the demolition this is communicated by express post with a receipted mail or you may anticipate and meet your neighbours at the prestart meeting, it is preferred to do both where practicable and before any asbestos removal that may be carried out.


Pest Control

it is a requirement that you bait rodents and pests prior to demolition. This should occur 7 days before the scheduled demolition, this is Included in our cost and process for you

some community members may be concerned about there pets. Our rat baiting is carried out by a licensed pest control company and provide a boxed Rat bait being pet friendly

Council will usually ask for proof of baiting and a certificate will be supplied


Recycling During the Demolition

Demolition works has developed proprietary process and systems and has a network to recycle 99% of the material coming from your site – unfortunately this is not for free and does not add any saving but helps toward the government carbon emission standards and the zero waste to land fill programme. All the main elements of Timber – concrete brick – Trees – salvageable items are directed to the appropriate waste streams. This network of suppliers processes the material to extract recoverable building waste and is used in value add products upstream.
